Shadow and Purses!

So....first news... we adopted yes, a 3rd dog. I never thought I would have 3 dogs, but I do since Monday. Her name is Shadow, she is a 7-8 year old black lab. Here's her story, Ryan saw an email on interact (Teacher email system) about somebody having to get rid of their dog, and they didn't want to have to put her in a shelter. Ryan showed me the email (mistake, I'm a sucker) and we waited a week to contact them to see if anybody else stepped up to take her. Nobody did obviously, and we met with her on Monday. We were under the wrong impression of the family that had her, they said she did have any shots since she was young, and she is not spayed...so we thought they didn't love her or neglected her or something and now wanted to get rid of her. So when we met the owner we found out we were very wrong. He did not want to get rid of her, but his wife wouldn't allow her to come inside anymore, they've moved to Cedar City where it's getting cold now, so he can't leave her outside anymore. His son couldn't take her because he's off at college, his other son took her for a while, she had puppies, and he decided he wanted a puppy and not her. So instead of him moving out and getting an apartment to keep Shadow (he told us he would) we decided we would take her. She's a very good girl, she's been digging, but we are working on that. She is getting along pretty well with Sammy and Mosie. She got ALL her shots and is getting spayed tomorrow. But boy was it a sad experience, the owner, Terry, started to cry. It was pretty emotional, I don't think I could give up either of my dogs, for anything. All in all, I think we made the right decision to save her from going to a shelter where she probably would not have been adopted before it was too late. Let's face it, hardly anybody goes to the shelter looking to adopt an 8 year old dog.

Second...my Mom is going to be at her first craft show on Saturday selling her purses. She will be in the Vons parking lot on Desert Inn and Durango starting at 9am. Please come by and check out her purses. If you want to see what kind of purses and bags I'm talking about then check out her newly made website at http://www.pursesbylinda.webs.com/ Come support my awesome Mom! I loooove her bags and I'm not just saying it 'cause she's my Mommy!

Some Pics

Yay, my brother and his family visited us last week!

Some hiking at Mt. Charleston.

Why me?

I would get into a car accident that was NOT my fault and have the ghetto other driver blame it on me. Of course, the cop wouldn't issue a ticket to ANYBODY. what?! I never even knew they could do that until Monday. Apparently the "guestimated" amount of damage was under $750 to both cars, so they dont write a report. WTF? That is very unhelpful when the other driver is blaming you. I hate round abouts, obviously this is where the accident happened. So....I was in the center lane, she was in the inner lane, and I was going to take the second exit, she apparently wanted to take the first exit from the inside lane, so...she just turned her car into the back of mine, spinning me out of control 90 degrees, which was super fun. My fault? How is it my fault when I'm ahead of her. All she had to do was open her stupid eyes and see ummmm a CAR. Idiot. So she says that I came into her lane, and I hit her. Man what a headache. Nobody stopped, of course, to help out as a witness, no report from the cop. So it's just my statement vs. her statement and pictures of the damage, I have a huge ugly dent, she has basically nothing since she was in an SUV. AND she has the nerve to try and tell the cop (loud enough for me to over hear) she had whiplash and her shoulder hurts, and that she was going to call her lawyer. Has anybody ever driven a round about, you can't go faster than like 20 or you crash anyway, hello, it's a circle. I hate people. So now it's a phone tag game, along with a lot of waiting, and hoping that they can see from the damage it was her freaking fault. It will suck big time if they say it's 50/50, I'll still be screwed to fix my car myself. UGH. AND it's on the driver side of my car, so every time I get in/out of my car I see it, and it just makes me angry all over again!!!!!

The Plan

Well, the decision has been made. Ryan and I will try to have a baby next summer! I know that's a whole year away, but still, it's exciting for me! We are going to plan a big trip to Europe before we board the baby train. Maybe we will make a true Irish baby while we are in Ireland. I have even started a list of baby names, but who knows what I will like a year from now. :)
